Using the BNS-V for the Z axis of horizontal articulated robots allows for low inertia and weight reduction of the Z axis. This results in high-speed motion, fast starts, quick stops, and reduction of cycle times.
The BNS-V is a combination product featuring a ball screw groove and ball spline groove on a single shaft, with a dedicated support bearing built directly into the outer periphery of the spline nut and ball screw nut. This ball screw/spline is capable of performing three types of motion (rotational, linear, and spiral) with a single shaft by rotating or stopping each nut.
