THK Now Redesigned for Even Greater Speeds SBK Caged Technology Ball Screw

These rates are made possible in part by THK’s incorporation of patented Caged Ball Technology. This THK technology employs a synthetic resin cage with a patented curvature that cradles each ball and separates it from the next. The spaces between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term, maintenance-free operation. Along with increasing speeds and accuracy, Caged Ball Technology decreases noise and dust generation.

Schaumburg, IL – (August 26, 2004) THK’s Type SBK Caged Technology Ball Screw has been redesigned with an increased pitch design for ultra-high speeds. Feed ratings for this innovative product have increased to 200 m/min, while the permissible DN values have grown to an incredible 210,000.

The design of the Type SBK eliminates ball re-circulation tubes. For ball screw contamination protection, THK’s QZ Lubricator (re-lubricating applicator) and Wiper Rings (particle, foreign matter/swarf penetration prevention device) are available as options. Type SBK sizes range from 3636 to 5050.
